Dena and I have had the privilege of leading The Freedom Center for the past 21 years. I have been an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for 25 years. I am also a veteran of the United States Army where I served as a military police officer. Dena is the organizational and implementational arm of The Freedom Center. She helps all of the pastors turn the visions that Jesus has for Fenton into realities. We have been married for 27 years and together have raised two amazing sons and one daughter in law (who is our favorite!)
Kim and I have been married for 33 years. We have 3 boys: Andrew (25), Timothy (23), and David (18).
We have attended The Freedom Center since 1988, and came on as executive staff members in 1999.
I work as the Church Administrator and oversee the Benevolence Ministries and Security/Ushers teams.
Kim works as Child Care Coordinator and assists with custodial duties in Children and Family Ministry and kitchen areas. Keeping things behind the scenes running smoothly and cleanly is our heart and passion.
Faye and I joined the executive pastoral staff of The Freedom Center in January of 2013. Originally from Philadelphia, PA and Flint, MI, our paths have provided the highs and lows needed to prepared us to bring clarity to people wherever they are at in life. We get the privilege to serve the people of this city and church through young adult ministry (Encounter), pastoral care, associate pastor duties, social media/web/graphic design, men’s and women’s ministry leadership, pastoral liaison to the childcare center at the church, and any other area that needs us. We love seeing people understand the Word and come to the realize that freedom is for all through Jesus Christ! Faye and I have been married since 2007, have 3 children: Carl III (Trey), Makyah Ellen, and Cora Grace, and a crazy dog named “Perry”.
Nicole and I have been married for 16 years and have 2 children, Ashlin Cole and Ramzy Ryan. I served as Music Minister of a small congregation for 10 years prior to coming to The Freedom Center. For the first 7 years after moving to TFC we served as volunteers in the Creative Arts Department, Youth, Young Adults, Young Marrieds, Life Groups, The Connect Center, Marriage Ministry, and Pre Marriage Ministry, with the common thread always being to create environments for people to connect and grow. In 2012, Nicole and I proudly joined the Executive Staff of The Freedom Center as head of the Creative Arts Department. With over 100 volunteers and staff members now part of the team, we carry this same mantra of excellence, developing leadership, pushing team members to new limits, and creating environments that can act as an easy entry point for anyone unchurched or dechurched.
Our first visit to The Freedom Center was for an Easter performance in spring of 2001. Little did we know that during that visit I would dedicate my life to Jesus and be born again. Since that time, life has been perfect… not really. We went through many personal attacks, but with God’s grace and newfound friendships, we are now on the other side. In 2012, I was asked to be the Children’s Pastor at TFC and I said, “No way”, but in 2013, I said, “Yes!” My wife, Denise, and I are now in full time family ministry. We have 4 daughters and believe we are right where God has called us to be.
I have worked with youth and young adult leaders at TFC for the past 17 years. Most of my life, I was a blue-collar worker and learned about Biblical principles such as faithfulness, dedication, and working with excellence while on the job. Youth has always been my heart! I have a desire to see them equipped with everything they need to go into the world and change it. I want to see them working in their gifting that will launch them into their destinies. I have been married to Melanie for 22 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, a son-in-law and a GRANDBABY!!!! Favorite job ever is being a grandpa.
